Save the Children is the world’s leading independent organization for children. We work in more than 120 countries, saving children’s lives; fighting for their rights; help them fulfill their potential. In 2021, Save the Children supported over 400 million vulnerable beneficiaries to survive, learn, and be protected with our vital programming. Over 180 million (44,7%) of these were children. Out of the number reached, 75million were reached directly, with 57.5% (43 million) being children; while over 330 million were reached indirectly with 42% (139 million) being children.

In 1986, Save the Children began its work in Tanzania in Pemba Island- Zanzibar working on maternal and newborn health. Since then, Save the Children Tanzania has expanded its programming to thirteen (13) regions in Mainland Tanzania (Dar es Salaam, Kigoma, Dodoma, Iringa, Morogoro, Rukwa, Mbozi, Tanga, Arusha, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Mtwara, and Lindi) and two (2) in Zanzibar (Unguja and Pemba) with ten (10) field offices across the country.

ROLE PURPOSE:

This role oversees, manage, and strengthen the systems and ways of working of the Supply Chain function in the Save the Children Country Office, reinforcing the capacity of staff and partners to satisfy the programmatic and office/function supply needs of the country efficiently and effectively.

The Supply Chain Manager provides leadership to the team, support and performs controls over all aspects of the Supply Chain function’s activities. They will be also responsible to coordinate with all relevant stakeholders and functions within the Country Office, ensuring that a positive collaboration and business partnering culture is in place. This will include demand planning with all key colleagues involved in projects design and implementation.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
