The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is responsible for managing the national roads network and airports development in Tanzania Mainland. Its duties include planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining roads to support socio-economic development through a competent workforce. The Regional Manager of TANROADS Shinyanga, on behalf of the Chief Executive, is seeking qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill vacant posts for the project titled “Upgrading of Kahama-Bulyanh esperaba Junction-Kakola (73KM) Road to Bitumen Standard” under CONTRACT No. TRD/HQ/1057/2023/24. Sociologist – 1 Post

Entry Qualifications:

• Must be a Tanzanian Citizen.
• Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Sociology, Guidance and Counseling, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
• At least two (2) years of working experience in a related field.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review the Construction Environmental and Social Management Plan (C-ESMP) to ensure compliance with the project’s Social Management Plan (EMP).
• Oversee the execution of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) and other social management plans.
• Facilitate the establishment and operationalization of a Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) and ensure its effective implementation.
• Coordinate local community participation in matters relating to the project.
• Monitor and evaluate the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) of the project to identify and mitigate potential social risks.
• Liaise with relevant institutions and stakeholders on matters pertaining to social issues.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Project Manager (PM).

Terms of Service

• The employment contract is for a specified period of one year, renewable depending on the status/progress of the project.
• Salary will follow the TANROADS salary scale, with additional site allowances as per the TANROADS Incentive Policy.
• Successful applicants must be prepared to work for considerable lengths of time in Kahama District, where the project is located.
