Social Worker & Programme Coordinator at Golden Foundation

Job Overview

Social Worker & Programme Coordinator at Golden Foundation

Social Worker & Programme Coordinator at Golden Foundation

ABOUT US

We are a registered charitable foundation based in Dar es Salaam, dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals and communities. Our work spans the care and welfare of children, educational sponsorships, community outreach, and ongoing support to those in need.

Among our active programmes is a children’s home where we provide residential care, welfare support, and long-term follow-up for children in our charge. We are now looking to bring a dedicated social work professional onto our team to support and strengthen this work.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate, organised, and professional Social Worker & Programme Coordinator to join our team. This is a meaningful, varied role that sits at the heart of our operations — combining hands-on social work with coordination and reporting responsibilities across our charitable programmes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out social work functions in line with regulatory requirements, including beneficiary assessments, case documentation, and direct client support
  • Conduct follow-up visits and welfare checks on children who have been adopted or reunited with their families, and prepare formal written case reports
  • Liaise with relevant government bodies and welfare authorities on child welfare and compliance matters
  • Coordinate and host visits to the children’s home by guests, donors, government officials, and other visitors — ensuring a warm and professional experience
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records for all beneficiaries and programme participants
  • Monitor and follow up on the Foundation’s active charitable programmes, including educational sponsorships and community assistance initiatives
  • Prepare clear, professional reports and programme updates for internal leadership and governance purposes
  • Serve as a point of contact for external enquiries related to the Foundation’s programmes
  • Accompany senior staff to government events, sponsorship functions, and official meetings, representing the Foundation professionally
  • Assist in preparing documents, correspondence, and materials for meetings and stakeholder engagements

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Community Development, or a closely related field
  • Registration with the relevant professional social work body in Tanzania is an advantage
  • Prior experience in social work, child welfare, or a charitable/NGO environment is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Swahili
  • Ability to produce professional reports, case documentation, and programme summaries
  • High level of integrity, empathy, and discretion when handling sensitive cases and beneficiary information
  • Confident and presentable when representing an organisation at official events and government engagements
  • Well-organised, self-driven, and able to manage multiple responsibilities at the same time
