About The Role

We are looking for a Senior Marketing Specialist to support the increase in monthly Bolt rides (demand), in Tanzania across all verticals, by creating and sustaining brand support on social platforms and online activities. Helping to find, plan, and execute local marketing activities in Tanzania.

Supporting communications to riders and drivers to ensure a correct workflow within all Bolt users.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Manage local social communities and influencer partnerships: Own and execute the social marketing strategy across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for Tanzania. Partner with the HQ team to scale ridership through influencer marketing, using monthly performance reports to optimize the strategy.
  • Oversee lifecycle & performance marketing activities: Launch and optimize targeted campaigns via email, push notifications, and in-app communications for both riders and drivers. Track and report on communication results while collaborating with HQ to localize performance advertisements.
  • Support the execution of local partnerships: Pitch and execute high-engagement campaign partnerships with external brands and events to reach riders, drivers, and eaters. Manage the creation of all supporting marketing materials and measure the final performance and engagement metrics.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of local events, activations and campaigns: Collaborate with the local
  • Marketing Manager, Community Specialists, and Operations teams to plan and execute impactful local campaigns and events. Provide hands-on, on-site support during event execution whenever required.

About You

Regional Marketing Experience: Experience executing social, lifecycle, and omnichannel marketing campaigns within South Africa or East Africa, preferably in a fast-paced consumer tech, mobility, or food delivery environment.
Social Media & Influencer Mastery: Proven ability to build highly engaged communities on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, leveraging existing creator networks and a deep understanding of East African digital culture and trends.
Creative Strategy & Localization: Strong creative instinct grounded in commercial KPIs, with the ability to brainstorm culturally resonant campaigns, brief assets using tools like Figma/Canva, and adapt global ads for local relevance.
Data Literacy & Technical Competency: Analytical mindset comfortable tracking performance dashboards and using automation/ad tools (such as Meta Business Suite, Braze, or CleverTap) to deliver data-backed optimization strategies.
Cross-Functional Execution: Excellent project management skills with the discipline to simultaneously manage multiple workstreams—including partnerships, lifecycle comms, and events—across multinational stakeholder teams.
Exceptional Communication: Fluent in spoken and written English, with a proven ability to write sharp, engaging copy tailored specifically to Bolt’s active and direct brand voice.
