About TANROADS

The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is tasked with maintaining and developing the trunk and regional roads network in Tanzania Mainland, as well as conducting axle load control operations. On behalf of the Chief Executive, the Regional Manager’s Office, TANROADS Dodoma, is recruiting qualified Tanzanian citizens for the road upgrading project: Upgrading of Kongwa Jct – Ngambi – Mpwapwa (32.0Km), LOT I: Kongwa Jct – Ngambi – Mpwapwa (32.0Km) Contract No. TRD/HQ/1033/2023/24.

Entry Qualifications & Requirements

• Citizenship: Must be a Tanzanian Citizen.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized institution.

• Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Professional Engineer.

• Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of working experience in a related field.

• Project Experience: Must have served as a Structures/Bridge Engineer on at least two (2) road construction projects of a similar nature.

• Location Commitment: Ready to work for extended periods in the Dodoma Region where the project is based.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design & Technical Review: Review structural drawings and reports to ensure full conformity with applicable engineering standards and technical specifications.

• Inspection & Quality Approval: Review, inspect, and approve construction materials and execution quality for all structural and drainage works.

• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed daily records, including site diaries, correspondences, technical reports, and formal instructions issued to the contractor regarding structural works.

• Quantity Measurement & Reporting: Verify and approve measured quantities for satisfactorily completed drainage works on a daily basis, and submit daily mini progress reports tracking updated structural costs.

• General Supervision: Execute any other related project tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
