POSITION: Sales and distribution assistant

LOCATION: Primary location – Zanzibar but flexible for Mainland activities or both
Unite Food Program (UFP) is a social enterprise owned and chiefly operated by Tanzanian women whose mission is to empower poor small-scale farmers with a secure market for their crops and fair market prices as well as to provide healthy, tasty, and affordable staple food options to all Tanzanian people. The enterprise goal is to empower small scale farmers to receive a secure market for their crops at an above-market price as well as supplying them with high quality storage bags (AgroZ® Bags) to use to store their crops to provide food for their families and to serve as a “bank” for future needs and emergencies; and trainings in agribusiness optimization techniques and approaches.UFP is currently advocating for the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 4 of “Zero Hunger” since what UFP does is geared to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

Expand the market of maize flour by 45% in 2022/2023 and sale 1200 tons of maize flour by July 2023.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs annual product distribution plans and tactics with specific targets that are linked to UFP’s annual targets and that provides sustainable growth of the business
- Designs distribution strategy that minimizes operational costs for the enterprise
- Designs detailing strategy to maximize availability and sales through all channels of products distribution, including organization of special campaigns to increase product presence at points of sales
- Responsible for routine food products distribution and sales.
- Will source orders for increasing sales and distribution activities.
- Maintain a delivery schedule, including days and delivery time.
- Responsible for daily feedback on how UFP products are doing in the market.
- Ensure following up on receivables to adhere to credit policy of UFP.
- Conduct routine market research of products prices in the market.
- Updating a customer database.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Good background on marketing/sales and distribution
- Over 2 years’ experience in sales /distribution of products
- Creative and resourceful
- Knowledge and understanding of Tanzania/Zanzibar food market
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Proficiency in Computer software (Word, Excel, Power point)
QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING
- Valid driving license
- Knowledge on driving a three-wheeler
