Job Purpose

The Safety Officer supports Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Quality Assurance across TMHS and client operations. This role is responsible for establishing safety procedures, conducting technical inspections, driving business development for OHS consultancy services, and ensuring full compliance with national safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• OHS & Quality Oversight: Oversee, inspect, and evaluate company and client OHS equipment and systems to ensure optimal efficiency and compliance.

• Maintenance & Support: Diagnose and resolve customer complaints and equipment malfunctions within a strict 24-hour SLA.

• Business Development & Tendering: Identify OHS consultancy opportunities, build corporate client relationships, and lead tender preparation and execution.

• Certifications & Compliance: Secure and maintain all required organizational OHS certifications, accreditations, and regulatory licenses.

• Product Development & Strategy: Conduct competitor analyses to design cost-effective, competitive OHS consultancy and training packages.

• HSE Operations & Reporting: Deliver HSE training, perform consultancy programs, and submit regular monthly/annual progress reports to the Head of Department.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Quality Assurance, Environmental Science, or a related field.

• Certifications: Professional HSE/OHS certifications (including OSHA compliance) are a strong advantage.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in HSE, quality assurance, or technical safety operations, ideally with exposure to business development or tender management.

• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Tanzanian OHS laws, safety codes, and compliance frameworks.
