Position Purpose
The Project Driver & Operations Assistant provides safe, reliable, and professional transport services for Plan International’s project operations while concurrently delivering administrative, logistical, and operational support. Reporting to the Supply Chain Coordinator, this dual role ensures seamless vehicle management, fuel tracking, staff safety, and effective day-to-day office administration for field project delivery in Geita.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Fleet Management & Professional Driving:

Provide safe, secure, and reliable transportation for staff, visitors, and project materials to urban, rural, and remote field locations.

Maintain up-to-date vehicle logbooks, fuel records, mileage logs, and travel documentation.

Conduct daily routine vehicle inspections, basic preventative maintenance, and report faults to ensure fleet roadworthiness.

Comply with Plan International’s transport policies, Tanzanian traffic laws, and organizational security protocols.

Logistics & Operations Support:

Assist in the planning, logistics, and delivery of project activities, workshops, trainings, and community events.

Handle administrative tasks, records management, document filing, data entry, and routine correspondence.

Support basic financial administration, petty cash management, and expense reconciliations for travel and project activities.

Provide front-office customer service and general administrative support during non-driving periods.

Qualifications & Requirements
-
Education & Professional Certifications:
-
Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Office Management, Public Administration, Records Management, Logistics, Secretarial Studies, or a related discipline.

Valid Tanzanian Driving License (Class C or higher).
-
Mandatory Defensive Driving Certificate from a recognized institution.
-
First Aid Certification is an added advantage.

Work Experience & Technical Competencies:
-
Minimum of three (3) years of professional driving experience, preferably within an NGO, international agency, government body, or reputable corporation.

Demonstrated track record driving on rough, rural, and remote field terrain with a clean driving history.

Hands-on experience in office administration, logistical support, record keeping, and fuel reconciliation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
