Position: Project Accountant 

Salvation Army Tanzania – May 2026

Location: Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania
Reports to: Chief Accountant and Development Officer
Contract Type: Full-time

Profile

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with at least 2 years of NGO experience.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and compliance.
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software is preferred.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Purpose

To ensure the effective, transparent, and accountable financial management of all Salvation Army Tanzania development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage financial compliance for assigned projects.
  • Enter supplier invoices into NetSuite and process payments.
  • Create, manage, and clear project advances.
  • Post income, expenses, and maintain accurate project ledgers.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations.
  • Payroll processing and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets and variances.
  • Prepare internal and donor financial reports.
  • Support audits and project closures.
  • Participate in project review meetings and trainings.
