MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Operations Management, Industrial Management or related field. 2. Minimum 5 years’ experience as a production manager in textile/apparel industry. A sound knowledge of the production process, planning and organization skills. Sound knowledge of industry-specific factory equipment
- Communication skills, time management, demand management, Analytical, Inventory Management and Optimization.
Requirements:
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to coordinate production activities effectively.
- Proficiency in Excel and production data analysis for monitoring performance and costs. 3. Quick learner, adaptable to new systems and technologies, with strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
Language and Computer Skills Fluent in English and Kiswahili, Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems
SUMMARY
The Production Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of garment production. This includes supporting the development and refinement of product designs, conducting comprehensive costing and feasibility analyses, and coordinating the creation of samples through to full-scale production. The role also entails ensuring strict adherence to quality control standards, optimizing production efficiency, and maintaining alignment with company objectives.
In addition, the Production Manager will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing the production and delivery schedules to ensure timely completion of orders. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to uphold the company’s quality benchmarks, meet delivery commitments, and achieve factory performance targets.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning:
- Creating, maintaining, planning and organizing product schedules.
- Assessing project and resource requirements
- Working out the human and material resources needed
- Drafting a timescale for the job
- Monitoring the production process and adjusting schedules as needed

- Developing and implementing innovative strategies to streamline factory operations.
- Overseeing production process
- Making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality d. Driving and achieving factory Key performance indicators (KPI).
- Analyzing production data to identify and resolve any production issues.
- Quality
- Determining quality control standards.
- Collaborating with quality control to establish and execute quality control processes. Regularly inspecting finished products to determine whether they meet established quality standards
- Implementing continuous improvement processes
- Cost
- Ensuring production is cost effective
- Continuously analyze factory overhead cost, ensure it is efficient
- Improving labor production and reduce production cost per unit
- Reducing waste in sample making, cutting, packaging, sewing and finishing levels
- Manage assets
- Responsible for selection of machines
- Scheduling routine maintenance for all machines and equipment
- Ensure operators receive proper training on how to operate machines for safe machine usage.
- Manage people
- Screening, recruiting and training new factory workers
- Motivating factory workers to continually achieve factory targets
- Build a productive team and improve their skills by coaching and conducting workshop and training as needed
- Employee health and safety
- Driving employee health and safety initiatives and awareness
- Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met
- Enforcing compliance with health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries
- Any other duty that may be assigned by management
