POSITION: Procurement Officer (1 Post)
LOCATION: Arusha, Tanzania
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time
JOB PURPOSE
Manage sourcing, purchasing, and supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of quality goods and services at the best value, in compliance with company policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, research, and pre-qualify potential suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and reliable supply.
- Conduct supplier evaluations based on quality, capacity, reliability, and compliance with standards.
- Raise and process purchase orders in line with procurement policies.
- Work with departments (Sales, Operations, Stores, Finance) to understand procurement needs and timelines.
- Develop and implement procurement plans aligned with budget and operational requirements.
- Prioritize purchases based on urgency and business impact.
- Track and follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Liaise with stores and logistics teams to verify received goods and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure goods meet required specifications and quality standards before acceptance.
- Maintain accurate records of quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
- Prepare procurement reports (cost analysis, supplier performance, spend tracking) for management.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field.
- CIPS, CPSP, or equivalent certification added advantage
- 2–4 years’ experience in procurement/supply chain.
- Sector experience in agriculture, distribution, or FMCG will be an added advantage
