Job Description
- Ensure all TSF and related civil infrastructure construction activities are carried out safely.
- Ensure all construction works are undertaken in accordance with the Perseus Tailings Management Standard.
- Assist the Site Construction Manager and Senior Tailings Specialist in ensuring that construction activities are completed within the required project schedule and budget.
- Liaise with the Perseus Site Construction Manager, Senior Tailings Specialist, Group Tailings and Water
- Manager, Engineer of Record (EoR), and other consultants, as required.
- Assist the Site Construction Manager and Senior Tailings Specialist in ensuring that construction works are completed in accordance with the approved construction drawings and specifications.
- Assist with the preparation and approval of Technical Queries (TQs), where required.
- Ensure all required Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) activities are carried out and properly documented.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures relating to safety, environment, health, and community.
Operations Phase
- Ensure all tailings management activities are undertaken in accordance with the Perseus Tailings Management Standard.
- Assist with day-to-day TSF investigations, studies, design, operational, and construction activities, as required. Perseus Mining Limited Job Vacancy — TSF Supervisor | August 2026
- Assist the Senior Tailings Specialist and Process Manager in providing information to the Group Tailings and Water Manager, Engineer of Record (EoR), and other consultants, as required.
- Assist with the preparation and management of budgets, as well as technical justifications for capital and operating expenditure associated with tailings projects.
- Report significant design, construction, and operational issues.
- Attend risk assessment workshops and provide technical input, as required.
- Assist in the preparation and review of Tailings Management Plans and Tailings Life of Mine Plans.
- Assist in the preparation of dam break and consequence assessments.
- Assist in the development and review of the Operations, Maintenance and Surveillance (OMS) Manual and Trigger Action Response Plans (TARPs).
- Conduct and document inspections, reporting any issues or concerns as required.
- Ensure site teams collect monitoring data and submit the information to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in providing information for storage capacity reviews.
- Assist with site audits and independent reviews by providing the required inputs within agreed timelines and completing assigned actions.
- Assist in the preparation of the Emergency Action and Response Plan (EARP) and facilitate mock emergency exercises.
- Provide on-the-job training to site personnel, where appropriate.
Skills
Essential
- Proven experience working on civil engineering or geotechnical engineering projects.
- Strong communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive commitment to continuous learning and professional development through internal and external collaboration and training.
Desirable
- Proven experience in the construction and operation of mine tailings projects.
- Proven experience working on mining projects in Africa.
- Sound knowledge of the Tanzanian Dam Safety Guidelines, ANCOLD Guidelines, the International
- Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM) Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM), and other relevant tailings management standards and guidelines
Qualifications & Licences
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Science, in a discipline relevant to tailings science, engineering and management (e.g., Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science,
- Environmental Engineering).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
