The University of Dar es Salaam Computing Centre (UCC) is currently seeking its next Managing Director to guide the Company to greater heights of success.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company’s overall strategic vision and business plans.
• This involves identifying new market opportunities, fostering innovation, fostering collaboration, and leveraging emerging technologies to propel business growth.
• Establish and lead a high-performing team of professionals, setting clear goals and expectations.
• The team must demonstrate the capability to achieve operational excellence and strategic objectives in an accountable manner, with a functional succession plan in place.
• Supervise all facets of the business, encompassing sales, marketing, operations, finance, and human resources.
• Across all areas, adherence to best practices is crucial, involving meticulous monitoring of key performance indicators and financial metrics to gauge UCC’s performance.
• Spearhead business development initiatives to secure new business prospects and enhance existing ones.
• This encompasses cultivating strategic relationships with valuable stakeholders such as clients, partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders by acting as the primary liaison with the board of directors, shareholders, and other participants in industry-related events.
• This includes effectively communicating UCC’s business objectives and interests.
• Mitigate risks and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business-related and Technology-related fields such as Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics, Law, and
• Information Technology. Possession of a higher degree (Master’s or PhD) would be advantageous.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for the technology business sector.
• Proven leadership experience of at least 10 years.
• Demonstrated success in expanding and revitalizing businesses.
• Profound understanding of global and Tanzanian ICT technologies and trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for motivating teams.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills to address issues that could impact the business.
