Makepack Operator
Position Purpose
To operate either cigarette-making and/or packing machines in order to meet daily targets while producing high quality cigarettes as per available standards and procedures i.e Quality Plan, change over/Shift change etc.
You must possess sufficient skills and knowledge to operate aforementioned machines inline with IWS principles while complying with 5S3R and Environmental health and safety standards.
Requirements
BSc Engineering or its equivalent
Proficiency in English and Swahili. Basic computer knowledge
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Effectively perform shift handover process with outgoing and incoming operator to ensure smooth flow of information for improved performance. The handover reports should be inline with IWS shift handover book requirement and must be completed accurately and timely
Perform planned stop activities (CILs, stop CLs, DH, MP&S tasks) as per standards. Propose new/improve standards to enable achieving the performance targets for the assigned production lines
Verify materials supplied against Production Order Form by Checking Production Order and verifying it against actual materials supplied in machine. Complete a shift/change over checklists – Cigarette Making/Packing; reporting any deviation of material observed during verification
Operate the machine as per OEM operating manuals and approved standards which are inline with safety and quality standards to ensure delivering set production targets
Monitor quality of product by conduct quality checks during machine operation as per Quality Plan and agree quality check guidelines. Monitor product quality -Once machine begins operation; check visual and physical parameters after every 20 minutes, conduct quality checks of cigarettes produced (physical & visual). Deviations must be identified, reported and acted on within agreed time.

Conduct BOS as per set targets
Any other duties reasonably requested by the Management this includes but is not limited to attending assigned machines.
