1. SENIOR RESEARCHER
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Researcher will support organization’s research activities. They will be responsible for the development of research proposals, protocols, tools, data analysis, as well as report writing. Their activities will include supporting our current client’s research projects. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in research methodologies including; segmentation analyses and conjoint analysis, conducting literature reviews, developing protocols for IRB submissions, training and overseeing field research teams of enumerators, data analysis, and reporting. Experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research with different people, gender, age, including validation of research tools, will be required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Taking part in the preparation of technical proposals
- To share learning within the team (through mentoring, training and supervising research assistants)
- To design, implement, analyse and manage research activities such as literature reviews, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Communicate the research/evaluation findings, outcomes, sustainability of the projects as well as recommendations to clients.
- Provide support to clients on the issues concerning the evaluation and studies being undertaken
- Effectively disseminating and communicating evidence and insight to clients and stakeholders.
- Providing ongoing research support, including helping to develop future evidence projects
- 8. To provide skills and applied experience in qualitative and quantitative methodologies that can be leveraged by the Research team
- Collaborate with program teams to integrate M&E findings into program design and implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate for this role should have :
o A minimum education required at least a Bachelor degree in social science, statistics, Monitoring and evaluation and any other related field
o Masters will be an added advantage for the candidate
o Proven work experience in managing research projects on the ground and overall impact evaluation studies for over 5 years
o Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods and proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R)
o Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of translating research findings into actionable strategies.
o Exceptional communication skills, both for technical and non-technical audience
2. RESEARCH ASSISTANTS
JOB DESCRIPTION
To assist in field activities for the given research studies. This includes but not limited to: Data management activities (collection, cleaning, coding, translation etc.), assist in planning of field work, consent study participants, stakeholder mapping, and mobilize participants from the community.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in logistical preparation for recruitment and mobilization of study participants 2. Actively participate in the process of troubleshooting on any issues affecting or may affect study field operations
- Attend all trainings organized by IFS
- Assist in community engagement
- Introduce the study to the participants and seek their informed consent to participate in the study;
- Contribute to tool review and pre-testing of tools (survey tools, focus group discussions and key informants’ interviews);
- Moderate FGDs and conduct key informant interviews;
- Conduct data collection and ensure quality, ethics and COVID-19 safety protocols are adhered to;
- Generate interview/FGD summaries per activity; as well as Document and report field experiences as per the plan through the guidance of Project Leader;
- Transcribe and translate qualitative data as well as data cleaning and coding
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of all collected data.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate for this role should have:
o A minimum education required at least a Diploma or bachelor degree of social science, statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation and any other related field o Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in quantitative and/or mixed methods research including use of smartphones/tablets to collect data;
o Experience in data coding and data transcription and translation is an added advantage;
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Proficiency in use of smart phone/tablet to collect data is required; and
o Familiarity with research ethics and experience taking informed consent.
o Cultural sensitivity: Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and demonstrate cultural sensitivity and understanding.
