SANY Heavy Industry (Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) has a vacancy for a HR Supervisor, based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Role Overview

We are searching for an experienced and dedicated HR Supervisor to join our team. The HR Supervisor’s responsibilities include overseeing the recruitment process, designing company policies, setting objectives for the HR team, and managing the company’s employee database. Our ideal candidate has a solid understanding of labour legislation, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Ultimately, you will ensure our HR department operates smoothly and effectively to promote a positive work environment and improve our company’s reputation.

Here are some of the key responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Selection: Overseeing the recruitment process, including conducting interviews, vetting new staff, and liaising with recruitment agencies.
  • Policy Development: Designing and implementing company policies and setting objectives for the HR team.
  • Employee Relations: Addressing employee queries, managing employee relations, and ensuring a positive work environment.
  • Training and Development: Organizing training sessions for new hires and refresher workshops for existing employees.
  • Performance Management: Conducting performance reviews and evaluations and supporting employee opportunities for professional development.
  • Compliance: Ensuring legal compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Administrative Tasks: Managing the company’s employee database, maintaining department records, and accurately processing paperwork.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Administering payroll and managing the HR department budget. Ensuring compliance with compensation regulations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HR Supervisor or similar role
  • Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development),
  • Understanding of labour laws and disciplinary procedures,
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HR software (e.g. HRIS or HRMS),
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude,
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or relevant field,
  • Applicants who are currently residing in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania will be given first preference.
