Role Overview
As the HR Business Partner (HRBP), you will shape Jaza’s people operations in Tanzania by partnering with business leaders and employees to align HR practices with strategic goals. Serving as the primary connection between local teams and global HR, you will lead workforce compliance, performance management, talent development, employee engagement, and HR operations.
Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Compliance: Resolve complex grievances, conduct workplace investigations, enforce company policies, ensure compliance with Tanzanian labor laws, and guide restructures or workforce planning.

Talent & Performance Management: Direct the annual performance management cycle (goal-setting, reviews, evaluations), support succession planning, collaborate on recruitment strategies, and oversee onboarding for new hires.

HR Operations & Payroll: Maintain accurate HRIS employee data, manage offer letters and employment contracts, administer employee benefits, run monthly payroll data processing, and generate analytical HR metrics reports.

Engagement & Culture: Implement employee engagement programs, analyze satisfaction survey results, lead well-being initiatives, and serve as an ambassador for Jaza’s mission and culture.

Office Administration Supervision: Direct the daily tasks of the Office Administrator, including office facility management, reception oversight, travel logistics coordination, and document distribution.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Psychology, or a related field.

Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in an HR generalist capacity.

Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience using HRIS/HRMS systems, payroll platforms, and standard MS Office tools.

Core Competencies: Extensive knowledge of Tanzanian labor laws, payroll processing expertise, conflict resolution skills, high attention to detail, and critical thinking abilities.

Work Style: Adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable operating within a fast-paced startup environment.
