Location: HQ-Dar Es Salaam
Reporting: This position initially reports directly to Senior Hardware Manager. There will also be significant exposure, interaction and collaboration with other departments, including: IT, Field Service, Credit, HR, Customer Care, Operations, Sales & Finance.
Pay: compensation is a competitive salary with discretionary bonus based on performance

Duties and Responsibilities
The hardware developer is responsible for a variety of mission critical areas that will give you exposure to all aspects of our operations and technology:
- Product development support, including circuit and PCB development, prototype hardware programming, measurement, and testing;
- Testing and quality control of solar, battery, and communications hardware received from manufacturer.
- Assembly, soldering and production activities of products for testing and/or sale; – Developing and improving firmware and server software related to IoT control and monitor functions
- Developing or improving apps that relate to IoT systems
- Developing new IoT solutions for data-driven improvements to our products, testing and technical processes
- Customer technical support (level 2) and support to our customer services team. – Field service troubleshooting, removals and installations, possibly with travel.
Prerequisites (level of proficiency)
The Hardware Developer needs to be experienced with a number of technologies, responsible, and eager to learn. Given the unique nature of this position, it is expected that the Hardware Developer will acquire some of the necessary skills on the job.
- Digital circuitry and electronics, including measurement and assembly (basic);
- Programming of circuit boards: uploading and testing software (medium);
- Firmware and software development
- Quality control;
- English and Swahili fluency.
Minimum Requirements

- Thorough with great attention to detail
- Bachelor degree in electronics science/ computer science or related field
