Open Position: General Manager – GSM Beverages

Duty station: Dare es Salaam, Tanzania.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive growth-oriented strategic plan aligned with company vision and industry trends.
• Oversee the entire manufacturing process of water and carbonated soft drinks and juices from raw material procurement to finished product distribution.
• Oversee entire production of rigid packing process from raw materials to finished goods distribution.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Monitor and manage production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Implement robust operational management systems, processes, and policies to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Manage product selection, logistics, and distribution processes to ensure timely delivery and maximize customer satisfaction.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers to drive business partnerships and ensure a diverse and reliable product portfolio.
• Set clear sales targets, align distribution strategies with market demands, and monitor performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align production output with market demands and promotional activities.
• Stay updated on evolving industry trends, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements to inform strategic decision-making.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and adopt new technologies to optimize production processes.
• Manage the annual budget for the manufacturing facility, including capital expenditure projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Food Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior managerial role out which 5 years in top management within the beverage manufacturing industry, with a strong focus on water, carbonated soft drinks and juices
• Proven track record of success in a General Manager or similar executive role, preferably within the fast-moving consumer goods
• Extensive experience in Beverages manufacturing, sales, marketing and distribution with a strong understanding of distribution logistics and supply chain management.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate import/export regulations, logistics, and shipping processes.
• Exceptional proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as problem solving skills
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Proven track record of improving production efficiency and product quality.
• Knowledge of production machinery, quality control standards, and industry regulations.
• Proficient in using ERP systems and production scheduling software.
