Amani Centre for Street Children is a nationally registered NGO headquartered in Moshi, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Amani is committed to reducing the number of children living on the street in Tanzania by providing a safe place for homeless children to heal, grow, and learn, and, when possible, reuniting them with their families and/or relatives. Amani has branches in the Arusha and Singida regions.
Amani is seeking to fill the following vacant positions with dynamic individuals to work with street-connected children and youths in Moshi, Arusha Singida, and other neighbouring regions.
Family Worker/Case Manager. (1 Position).
Duty Station: Amani Centre for Street Children Singida
Reporting to: Project Coordinator
Position Description:
The selected candidate will work intensively with street children and their families. S/he will manage reunification caseloads, intervene and mitigate cases for children and youths at the centre and in their families, conduct frequent visits to the families of (reunified) street children and youth, and do follow-up visits to monitor the positive progress of children and youth who are reunited with their families. One in this position should be able to keep complete and confidential detailed data files of the children and youth and their families.
Minimum qualification and experience required:
A diploma or degree in social work, community development, sociology, or any other child-development-related studies. Fluency in oral and written English and Swahili, at least two years of working experience in a closely related position.
