Position: Driver (01 posts) 

Reports to: Assistant Technical Manager 

Position Type: Staff Position

Job Location: Arusha, Tanzania

 

Objective of the Role: Must be able to operate vehicles, tractors, forklifts, excavators, or any other equipment .Also must possess a valid driver’s license appropriate for the specific driving category required.

Main activities:

1. Inspecting company cars.
2. Reporting vehicle license, insurance, and roadworthy certificate expiration alongside the Technical Supervisor.
3. Handling delivery and collection of export/import documents and shipments.
4. Providing guest pick-up or drop-off, as well as employee transportation.
5. Undertaking additional tasks as assigned by management.

Specific Tasks:

1. Perform daily checks on company cars using the required checklists, and ensure they are washed and cleaned as needed.
2. Promptly notify the Technical Supervisor of any impending expiration of vehicle licenses, insurance, or roadworthy certificates.
3. Ensure timely delivery of original export/import documents to clearing agents to facilitate swift handling. Handle the delivery or collection of import/export shipments, such as to the International Airport. Report any issues, such as damages, to the Harvest & Export Manager.
4. Facilitate the transportation of guests, such as from the International Airport, and return them upon completion of their visit. Also responsible for transporting employees to and from Enza, or from the picking point to Enza and back.
5. Skilfully operate tractors, forklifts, and excavators to carry out a range of farm or construction tasks as directed.
6. Undertake any additional tasks assigned by superiors, whether on the farm premises or elsewhere.

Qualifications and Skills:

-High school certificate and driving certificate with minimum 3 years of relevant working experience.

–Must posses a national driving license under categories C, C1, C2,D,E,F,G  is mandatory .

-Having worked in a formal office setting as a driver is an added advantage.

– Because of logistical constraints,for this role it is necessary to live within the Arusha region.

– Strong organizational and time-management skills.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

– Must be able to communicate in both English and Swahili languages.

-Must be able to competently drive tractors, forklifts and excavators.
