Lafarge Tanzania is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Electrical Technician, to be based in Mbeya Plant, in a permanent employment contract

Position Reporting To: Electrical Supervisor

Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical electronic wring, equipment, appliances and fixtures using hand tools and power tools
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning electrical systems using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdown and fault solving
• Diagnose the electrical circuit breakers, transformers and other components to make sure they operate at full capacity.
•  Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and needs for adjustment or repairs and corrects all findings as per standards.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuitry in electrical equipment and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
• Repair replace wiring, equipment and fixtures to install ground lead and connect power cables to equipment such as Motors.

Qualifications

Education:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum of three years’ experience in clinker and cement manufacturing industry.

Technical Competencies /Additional skills:

•  Good knowledge of product and manufacturing process
• Good knowledge in electrical equipment and instrumentation
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical equipment maintenance and operations
• Knowledge in Electricity distribution and transmission.
• Ability to multi-task effectively
• High level of integrity and self-discipline
• Creative and Innovative
• Computer literacy and knowledge of Ms Office tools.
