Job Purpose

The Manager Core Network is responsible for the end-to-end operational management and governance of CRDB Bank’s core network infrastructure across domestic, international, and Data Center locations. This role ensures high network availability, robust performance, multi-vendor security governance, third-party integrations, and continuous technology evolution in line with the bank’s digital strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Core Network Operations & SLA Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day performance, health, and availability of network infrastructure across all Data Center (DC) locations under formal SLA targets.

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for major network incidents, leading root cause analysis (RCA) and preventive action planning.

• Strategic Alignment & Architecture:

  • Align the Core Network roadmap with business growth, digital transformation plans, and regulatory mandates.

  • Serve as design authority for core network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Data Center networking, internet gateways, and cross-border connectivity.

  • Manage inter-DC connectivity, network segmentation, disaster recovery (DR) capabilities, and international carrier relationships.

• Network Security & Compliance Governance:

  • Lead network security design in coordination with Cybersecurity (Zero-Trust architecture, micro-segmentation, IDS/IPS, DDoS mitigation).

  • Ensure full compliance with internal risk policies, Cyber Security frameworks, Internal Audit, SWIFT standards, PCI DSS, Central Bank ICT governance, and data residency laws.

• Vendor, Budget & Lifecycle Management:

  • Govern the lifecycle of network infrastructure assets (rollout, monitoring, upgrades, and refresh cycles).

  • Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, performance reviews, and SLA enforcement (Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, Fortinet, Radware, etc.).

  • Manage CAPEX and OPEX network budgets, procurement oversight, and value assurance.

• Team Leadership & Capacity Planning:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the network operations team (performance reviews, training, succession planning).

  • Provide periodic capacity forecasts, network analytics, and executive reporting to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications, Skills & Requirements

Education & Certifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Technology, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

• Essential Professional Certifications:

  • ITIL4 Foundation/Intermediate

  • CompTIA Network+

  • Cisco Professional/Expert level (e.g., CCNP, CCIE)

  • Other OEM Internetwork Expert Certifications (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, F5)

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in network and ICT infrastructure management, preferably within a Banking/Financial Services environment.

• Proven track record managing enterprise multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, Fortinet, Radware).

Technical & Operational Competencies:

• Expert knowledge in routing/switching, MPLS, SD-WAN, BGP, OSPF, firewall architecture, and DC networking.

• Deep experience in network security frameworks (Zero-Trust, micro-segmentation, PCI DSS controls).

• Proven capability in people management, process mapping, and vendor/contractor management.
