Role Overview

CRDB Bank PLC is seeking a qualified Manager IFRS and Islamic Finance Reporting to oversee the preparation of Bank and Group audited financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), ISSB sustainability standards (IFRS S1 & IFRS S2), Sharia-compliant accounting principles, and Bank of Tanzania (BOT) / Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) climate guidelines. Reporting to the Manager Financial Reporting, this role drives the bank’s climate disclosures, greenhouse gas emissions tracking, and Islamic finance accounting frameworks.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Financial & Sustainability Reporting: Lead the preparation of Bank and Group audited financial statements incorporating IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 disclosure requirements, TCFD guidelines, and BOT/DSE sustainability standards.

• Climate & Financed Emissions Management: Coordinate the measurement, calculation, and reporting of Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions, including financed emissions assessments using the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) framework.

• Islamic Finance Accounting: Oversee Islamic accounting and Sharia-compliant financial reporting in strict alignment with applicable accounting standards, regulatory expectations, and governance frameworks.

• Climate Risk & Scenario Analysis: Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to perform climate scenario analysis, stress testing, and assessment of physical and transition climate risks affecting portfolio performance.

• Governance, Audit & Capacity Building: Maintain comprehensive audit trails and data validation processes for sustainability metrics, liaise with external auditors and regulators, and deliver technical training to the broader Finance team.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.

• Professional Certification: Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage.

• Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, or related finance roles.

• Specialized Knowledge: Practical understanding of IFRS S1 & S2, Islamic accounting frameworks, ESG non-financial metrics, PCAF methodology, and frameworks such as GRI or NGFS.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analytics tools (Advanced Excel, Power BI, or similar) with strong report-writing and cross-functional coordination abilities.
