Role Overview

CRDB Bank PLC is looking for a qualified Senior Specialist Financial Reporting to ensure the bank’s financial reports comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Bank of Tanzania regulatory guidelines, and internal governance frameworks. Reporting to the Manager Financial Reporting, the position is responsible for trial balance integrity, group audited financial statements, board performance reports, and technical accounting standards implementation (including IFRS 9 and IFRS 16).

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Financial Statement Preparation: Support the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual trial balances, as well as the Bank and Group audited financial statements in full compliance with IFRS and regulatory policies.

• Technical IFRS Compliance: Oversee IFRS 16 lease schedule maintenance and Right-of-Use assets, alongside IFRS 9 procedures including Effective Interest Rate (EIR) calculations, loan facility fee deferrals, and non-earning asset management.

• Expected Credit Loss (ECL) Computation: Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual ECL calculations, validate model assumptions, reconcile outputs, and post accurate entries in the core banking and general ledger systems.

• Audit Coordination & Management: Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audit engagements, supplying required schedules, addressing audit queries, and driving the resolution of audit recommendations.

• Reporting & Journal Management: Prepare month-end and year-end journals, provisions, accruals, and reclassification entries. Support the generation of quarterly Board and Management performance reports analyzing actual vs. budget performance.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, Data Analytics, or a closely related field.

• Professional Certification: CPA (T), ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification is an added advantage.

• Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in financial reporting, with strong operational knowledge of IFRS standards within the banking or financial services sector.

• Key Competencies: Advanced proficiency in IFRS (specifically IFRS 9 & 16), core banking system general ledger reconciliation, attention to data accuracy, report writing, and stakeholder coordination.
