We are looking for a Chief Accountant to join our Finance team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
As a Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising and allocating tasks within the Accountancy Section to ensure timely completion.
- Collaborating with external financial auditors during annual financial statement audits.
- Contributing to the preparation of annual revenue and capital budgets, monitor financial performance, and complete annual accounts.
- Providing accounting support for the Housing Revenue Account, including budgeting, monitoring, and financial advice.
- Maintaining monthly intercompany reconciliations, Fixed Assets Register, and accounts payable/receivables reports.
- Managing AzamPay and Bulk payout transactions and reconcile them with Mobiquity.
- Performing and formalizing internal controls, support audits, and ensure compliance with IFRS.
- A dynamic, self-motivated, and results-oriented individual with a strong knowledge of Accounting & Finance and excellent communication and presentation skills.
Experience and Education:
- 5 years in Accounting in the FMCG industry
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent
- Oversee and allocate tasks within the Accountancy Section.
- Assist in budget preparation, financial monitoring, and
provide accounting advice. - Collaborate with external auditors for yearly financial audits.
- Help implement financial systems and ensure compliance with IFRS.
