Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Cane Supply Officer is responsible for ensuring a continuous, efficient, and high-quality supply of sugarcane from fields/growers to the processing mill.

• Cane Supply Strategy & Logistics: Coordinate harvesting-to-crushing schedules, field transport logistics, and cane yard operations to minimize delays and quality loss.

• Grower Relations: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with outgrowers and estates, providing guidance on agricultural best practices.

• Quality Assurance & Standards: Monitor cane quality, transport timelines, and group agricultural standards.

• SHERQ Compliance: Enforce Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ) procedures across field loading, logistics, and yard operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Minimum 2-year Diploma in Agriculture, Logistics, or Transport Management.

  • SASRI Junior Certificate course (or willingness to complete it within the first year of employment).

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in agriculture or logistics management.

  • Prior experience (approx. 3 years) as an Assistant Farm Manager is highly desirable.

• Strong logistical planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.

• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder relationship management abilities.

• Effective communication skills across operational field teams and mill management.
