Job Overview

SBC Tanzania Limited (PEPSI Tanzania), a leading beverage company engaged in the manufacturing, distribution, and sales of PepsiCo brands across Tanzania, is seeking a results-driven Area Sales Manager to join its commercial team at the Arusha Plant. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Area Sales Manager will lead route operations, manage and coach Customer Representatives (CRs), drive sales volume growth, expand customer coverage, and ensure strict operational controls across assigned territories.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Coaching: Plan daily route operations, conduct regular briefings with MDRs and CRs, and perform route rides to supervise, evaluate, and coach field representatives.

• Volume Target Achievement: Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly sales volume goals across assigned commercial territories.

• Customer Service & Account Growth: Promptly resolve customer complaints, ensure signed Retailer Cards are maintained, identify high-potential spots for new coolers/push carts, and improve brand availability.

• Operational Reports & Control: Sign Daily Sales Summaries (DSS) for Finance reconciliation, review next-day product load-out proposals, and submit accurate weekly and monthly performance reports.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commercial Management, or a related field.

• Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar route-to-market sales responsibilities, preferably within the FMCG or beverage industry.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Total sales volume achieved versus territory targets.

• Zero unresolved customer complaints.

• Net growth in new active customer accounts.

• 100% brand availability across primary coverage routes.

• Optimal placement and replacement of cooling equipment.

• Timely and precise submission of sales reports.
