AUMS

Since 2007 African Underground Mining Services (AUMS) has provided unmatched mechanized underground mining services for clients in Africa. By combining the local knowledge that Ausdrill had gained, operating in Africa for over 15 years, with the underground mining expertise of Barminco the AUMS 50/50 JV was formed. This unique joint venture represents a combination of both companies’ knowledge distilled into a powerful single entity; a highly productive underground mining service provider for our clients.

Within AUMS there is a dedication to achieving the highest global standards in underground mining for all our clients. This includes both safety and operating standards and there is a specific focus on sharing this mining knowledge within the business across all levels of the business. AUMS aims to leave a positive legacy of underground mining in all the countries in which we operate and we can only do this through training and up-skilling of the workforce. To date AUMS and AMS has trained over 20,000 operators in Africa.

The AUMS team currently has offices in Ghana, Mali, Burkina Faso and Tanzania which have been strategically placed to maximise access to major transport routes and current and future clients. AUMS has worked with a number or major clients across Africa and also formed joint ventures with local contracting companies to share knowledge and experience.

With a commitment to world-class best practices, AUMS has become and will continue to be the ‘contractor of choice’ in the African underground hard rock mining industry.
