We’re hiring an Accounts Team Lead
Who we are
Formerly The Plaster House, Kafika House was established in 2008 to provide a unique and loving home away from home for children receiving pre- and post- operative care and rehabilitation for a surgically correctable disability. We have facilities in Arusha, Moshi and Karatu.
Job overview
As Accounts Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining all financial aspects of our operations. Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational and analytical skills, and being comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets are required. This position is located at our HQ in Themi Hill, Arusha, but will include travel to other locations.
Key working relationships
This role reports to our Business Manager and works closely with the Chief Operating Officer, all managers, and coordinators of our various facilities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations Process payroll and regulatory payments Prepare financial reports, budgets and forecasts
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to the Management Team
- Manage accounts payable and receivable Monitor and reconcile bank accounts
- Maintain up to date financial records and ensure accuracy
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends and variances and make recommendations
- Produce management reports
- Prepare, track and reconcile ledgers and budgets
- Participate in decision making processes to support the organisations financial objectives
- Establish efficient financial processes and control measures
- Ensure compliance with Tanzanian tax regulations (TRA) and coordinate with external auditors
- Maintain a relationship with regulatory authorities Oversee standard bookkeeping tasks
- Perform other related tasks, as assigned by the Business Manager
Education, skills and experience
- Holder of Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field At least three years of relevant work experience in Finance Experience in implementation of effective systems and processes Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial data
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Effective communication skills, written and verbal Critical thinking
- Understanding of nonprofit accounting principles NGO experience is an added advantage
