Job Summary:

As an Accountant at MUV Group, you will play a key role in maintaining financial records, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer and Managing Director, you will contribute to the overall financial health and success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Record Keeping:
  • Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and accounting systems.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Present financial reports to the CFO and Managing Director, highlighting key insights and trends.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor budgetary performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Developing and analyzing cost standards
• Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
• Audit Support:
  • Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process.
  • Address audit queries and implement audit recommendations.
• Cash Flow Management:
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to meet the organization’s needs.
  • Recommend strategies for improving cash flow.
• Financial Analysis:
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Collecting and Analyzing data about a company’s operational costs
  • Provide insights into financial performance and trends.
  • Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis.
• Expense Management:
  • Review and approve expense reports.
  • Implement cost control measures.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Must have knowledge on cost accounting.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, with atleast 2 years of relevant work experience.
• CPA or ACCA certification is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or equivalent).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills in English and Swahili, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
