Role Overview & Reporting Line

Reporting to the Head of Hospital Finance, the Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, enforce internal financial controls, manage reconciliations, and ensure statutory and donor compliance to support effective financial management across CCBRT’s healthcare operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Financial Accounting & Records: Maintain accurate ledger entries, support month-end/year-end closing processes, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

• Reconciliations & Cash Management: Conduct regular bank reconciliations, monitor daily cash flow, and track accounts payable and receivable.

• Cost Control & Budgeting: Assist in budget preparation, cost tracking, expenditure monitoring, and fixed asset/inventory management.

• Audit & Compliance: Prepare schedules and documentation for internal/external audits, ensuring full compliance with tax laws, statutory reporting, and donor guidelines.

• Process Improvement: Continuously review and strengthen accounting workflows and internal control systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • Professional qualification (CPA(T) or ACCA) is an added advantage.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.

  • Prior accounting experience within a hospital, medical facility, or non-profit healthcare organization is an added advantage.

• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/ERP software, specifically SAP.
