Job Purpose
The Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, and ensure full compliance with financial regulations and company policies. The role provides financial and operational support to the Service business by monitoring Work-in-Progress (WIP), analyzing profitability, preparing performance reports, managing monthly sales reporting, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Service Operations & Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports for Workshop and Field Service departments, including quarterly WIP counts.

Monitor open jobs under Work-in-Progress (WIP) on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure timely closure.

Conduct cost and variance analyses against forecasts on a monthly basis.

Prepare profitability analyses for service contracts, workshop operations, and field services.

Prepare monthly sales reports in OneStream along with other financial reports.
2. Invoicing, Budgeting & Controls

Support customer invoicing and quotation processes for service contracts and equipment.

Prepare quarterly and annual forecasts and budgets.

Perform balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts.

Monitor CAPEX expenditures and investment tracking.

Conduct internal control testing to ensure controls within scope operate effectively.
3. Business Controller Support

Assist the Business Controller with pricing reviews, reconciliation reports, and monthly commentary (Flash and Actuals).

Assist in preparing monthly operational reports (equipment reports, Goods in Transit [GIT], Accounts Receivable [AR], etc.).

Ensure strict compliance with all company procedures, financial policies, and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Academic & Professional Qualifications
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university.
-
Professional Certification: Must be a CPA holder.
Experience Requirements
-
Overall Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting practices.
-
Industry Experience: Exposure to the mining or related heavy engineering industries is an added advantage.
