Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team in Mwanza. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations.

Responsibilities
- Manage accounting activities to ensure compliance with Tax laws and regulations.
- Perform cash and Bank Reconciliation at the end of each month to ensure accuracy i.e. reconciles both Revenue and Expenditure.
- Manage Office Petty Cash.
- Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register: including recording, coding and verification of the assets
- File financial data & documents in an organized and orderly way as soft copy and hardcopy.
- Record all financial data in the accounting system to capture daily financial transactions.
- Ascertainment of transportation cost, price negotiation and price quotation.
- Preparing and reconciling monthly VAT returns, submitting them through the TRA online filing system.
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and documentation required for auditing.
- Undertaking purchases of minor items and participating in the procurement functions as needed
- Process payroll and preparing monthly statutory returns including PAYE, SDL, WCF, Service levy, NHIF, HLSB, etc.
- Handling debtors and creditors accounts
Knowledge and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years of working experience in accounting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Tally, or ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
