Role Overview

Absa Bank Tanzania is seeking a high-performing Senior Relationship Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of Local Large Corporates (LLC) and Regional Corporates (RC). The position is responsible for driving portfolio profitability, maximizing risk-adjusted revenue, expanding wallet share, managing credit risk, and providing mentorship to junior Relationship Managers and Credit Management Associates within the Corporate Banking division.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Sales & Portfolio Growth (40%): Develop business strategies to acquire new corporate clients and expand wallet share among existing accounts across diverse industries. Conduct annual borrowing facility reviews and promote tailored corporate banking products.

• Business & Risk Management (30%): Oversee portfolio performance against financial, service, and risk-adjusted targets. Formulate Customer Relationship Plans, manage credit risk compliance, and step in for the Head of Large Corporate when required.

• Team Leadership & Coaching (30%): Lead, coach, and support Relationship Managers (RMs) and Credit Management Associates (CMAs). Assist team members with skill development, performance reviews, and credit risk assessment techniques.

• Stakeholder & Regulatory Engagement: Engage directly with C-suite executives of corporate entities to negotiate complex financial transactions while ensuring alignment with Tanzanian banking regulations and Absa’s reputational risk policies. Absa Bank Tanzania Job Vacancy

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Management Studies, or a related field. Professional banking or finance qualifications are required.

• Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years (or significant proven track record) in corporate banking relationship management, handling large or regional corporate portfolios.

• Technical & Credit Skills: Deep expertise in corporate credit risk assessment, complex trade finance, structured lending, treasury solutions, and portfolio risk management.

• Core Competencies: Strong commercial focus, advanced negotiation and presentation skills, leadership ability, and active knowledge of the Tanzanian corporate landscape. Absa Bank Tanzania Job Vacancy
