Role Details & Requirements
1. Mine Superintendent (1 Post)
-
Purpose: Manage all underground operations to meet regulatory, safety, production, and cost targets.

Requirements: Degree/Diploma in Mining Engineering; minimum 10 years of underground mining experience (gold sector preferred); valid Tanzanian driving, blasting, and dangerous goods licenses.
2. Mine Captain (2 Posts)

Purpose: Coordinate shift activities and resource allocation across assigned areas to achieve weekly and monthly production plans.

Requirements: Advanced Secondary Education or Diploma in Mining; minimum 8 years of underground experience (including 5 years in a supervisory role); valid driving, blasting, and dangerous goods licenses.
3. Shift Supervisor (2 Posts)

Purpose: Supervise shift crews, monitor ground conditions, and ensure daily production targets are met safely.

Requirements: Advanced Secondary Education or Mining Technical Certificate; minimum 5 years of underground experience (including 3 years leading a crew); valid driving, blasting, and dangerous goods licenses.
4. Underground Mine Surveyor (1 Post)

Purpose: Provide accurate survey control networks, development pickups, and cavity/volume measurements.

Requirements: Degree/Advanced Diploma in Mine Surveying; proficiency in Deswik/CAD software and Leica equipment; minimum 3 years of survey experience across open-pit and underground environments.
5. Graduate Underground Mining Engineer (1 Post)

Purpose: Support engineering teams with mine planning, design updating, data collection, and field inspections.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering; basic knowledge of mine design software; physically and mentally fit for deep underground operations.
6. Jumbo Operator (3 Posts)

Purpose: Operate jumbo rigs to drill development headings safely and accurately according to approved designs.

Requirements: Recognized Jumbo Rig Competency Certificate; minimum 3 years of recent experience operating Atlas Copco or Sandvik rigs in hard-rock environments; valid driving and blasting licenses.
7. Development – Charge-Up (3 Posts)

Purpose: Safely handle, transport, charge, and fire explosives in development faces and production stopes.

Requirements: Ordinary Secondary Education; minimum 3 years of underground charge-up crew experience; valid Tanzanian blasting and dangerous goods certificates.
8. Loader Operator (2 Posts)

Purpose: Operate underground loaders (boggers) to move and load ore and waste materials.

Requirements: Loader/Bogger Competency Certificate; minimum 3 years of underground loader experience (minimum 12 months of tele-remote experience required if operating tele-remote machinery); valid driving license.
9. Truck Operator (3 Posts)

Purpose: Operate underground heavy haul trucks safely along designated haulage routes.

Requirements: Underground Truck Competency Certificate; minimum 1 year of underground mining haulage experience; valid Tanzanian driving license of the appropriate class.
10. Service Crew (3 Posts)

Purpose: Install, extend, and maintain underground services including ventilation, water, paste, and power networks.

Requirements: Ordinary Secondary Education (vocational trade training is an asset); minimum 1 year of underground services experience; Working at Heights certification and valid driving license.
11. Nipper (2 Posts)

Purpose: Assist jumbo operators and mine crews with face preparation, drilling tool logistics, and site housekeeping.

Requirements: Ordinary Secondary Education; valid Tanzanian driving license; previous underground experience preferred.
