About the Role

Perseus Mining (Tanzania) Limited is seeking a qualified Gold Room Operator to join its processing team in Mwanza. The Gold Room Operator plays a vital role in processing operations, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and safe handling, smelting, and recording of precious metal bullion while adhering to strict environmental, safety, and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety, Environment, & Security

• Safety Leadership: Champion a zero-harm safety culture and strictly adhere to company HSE policies and environmental permit conditions.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all gold room activities and handling processes comply with local and international safety regulations.

Gold Room Operations

• Bullion Processing: Assist with electrowinning, smelting, and bullion pickup operations.

• Data Logging & Inventory: Maintain detailed, precise gold room logs and ensure accurate tracking of gold and silver bullion inventory at all times.

• KPI Monitoring: Monitor metallurgical KPIs and assist with process optimization and continuous operational improvement.

Team & Leadership Engagement

• Collaboration: Work closely with Processing and Maintenance departments to streamline operations and equipment maintenance.

• Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of accountability, skills development, and transparent communication within the metallurgical team.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience & Education

• Processing Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in metallurgical or mineral processing roles, preferably within gold processing operations.

• Gold Room Expertise: Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in gold room operations, including electrowinning and smelting processes.

Essential Skills & Attributes

• Operational Knowledge: Deep understanding of gold room operations, machinery, and inventory control.

• Safety & Integrity: Strong commitment to HSE systems, high personal integrity, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

• Maintenance Advantage: Previous experience maintaining gold room equipment is highly desirable.

Additional Operational Conditions

• Preparedness to undergo specialized external training to support operational requirements.

• Willingness to work outside normal working hours on occasions when required.
