As Tanzania’s largest local provider of disability and rehabilitation services, CCBRT is committed to empowering people with disabilities and their families, improving their quality of life, and ensuring access to medical and rehabilitative treatment. CCBRT also actively prevents lifelong disabilities through extensive Maternal and Newborn Healthcare (MNHC) activities, including obstetric fistula repairs. The Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral centre for high-risk and emergency deliveries in Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.

To strengthen its Clinical Division, CCBRT is seeking a dynamic Medical Doctor interested in volunteering, offering general practitioner services in support of prevention and early detection of disabilities.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Examine and treat patients in both outpatient and inpatient departments.

• Run scheduled clinics and perform screening of patients.

• Admit patients to the ward and prepare operation lists.

• Update Senior Medical Doctors/Specialists on conditions of patients due for discharge.

• Perform minor surgical procedures and assist senior surgeons during major operations.

• Participate in community outreach activities.

• Work in shifts, including rotating on-call duties, night shifts, and weekends.

Note: This position is offered under a health volunteer contract and provides valuable on-the-job learning opportunities.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Holder of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized institution with successful completion of a one-year internship. Minimum GPA of 2.7 at the undergraduate level.

• Experience: At least 1 year of post-intern working experience with a reputable organization.

• Registration & Licensing: Registered with the Tanganyika Medical Council as a Medical Doctor, holding a valid practitioner license.

• Skills: Computer literate with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in both English and Swahili.

• Attributes: Proactive attitude, strong eagerness to learn, client-focused, and a collaborative team worker.
