 Position Summary 

The Network Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s network  infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and secure communication. This role supports the  critical operations of immigration systems, including data exchange, case management, and client  interactions, by ensuring the reliability and security of network systems. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Network Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network systems, including  LAN, WAN, and VPN connections, to ensure high availability and performance. 
• Security Implementation: Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and  other security measures to protect sensitive immigration data. 
• System Upgrades: Install and update network hardware and software, ensuring compatibility  with immigration software platforms and compliance with industry standards. 
• Performance Optimization: Analyze network performance and implement improvements to  support high-demand periods, such as visa application deadlines. 
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of network configurations, changes, and  troubleshooting procedures. 
• Collaboration: Work closely with system administrators, database administrators, and  software developers to ensure seamless integration of network systems with immigration  platforms. 
• User Support: Provide technical support to staff and clients, resolving network-related issues  promptly. 

Requirements 

Education 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Experience 

• 3–5 years of experience in network administration, preferably in industries handling sensitive  data (e.g., legal, government, or immigration). 
• Proficiency in managing network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).

Skills 

• Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting VPNs and wireless networks.
•  Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. 

Certifications 

• Relevant certifications to enhance qualifications include but not limited to: o Dell EMC Certified Associate Networking
• Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) Certification
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• CompTIA Network+
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
• Fluency in both English and Kiswahili (spoken and written). 
• Previous experience in the aviation industry is a plus. 
• Tanzanian national only.
