Position Overview
Reporting to the Project Officer, the Project Assistant is responsible for day-to-day, grassroots implementation of RTV methodologies within assigned partner villages. The role involves leading community-level trainings, verifying input distributions, conducting household follow-ups, and collaborating with local leaders to ensure project compliance, active community participation, and long-term sustainability.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Project Implementation: Conduct project design review meetings with village partners; co-facilitate community trainings in financial literacy, VSLA, agriculture, livestock management, and WASH; verify inputs prior to distribution; provide ongoing support to households and community groups.

Reporting & Administration: Develop work plans; submit weekly field activity reports; prepare weekly financial requests and reconciliations for the Senior Project Officer; capture field photos for data repositories; participate in weekly staff and cluster meetings.

Monitoring & Evaluation: Gather field-level feedback and recommendations to refine project methodologies; identify implementation risks and suggest actionable solutions to improve program sustainability.

Community Relations: Maintain regular dialogue with local leaders and community members to track participation, manage expectations, and address field challenges.
Qualifications & Competencies

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development, Project Management, Development Studies, Social Work, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in community development, project facilitation, or grassroots field implementation.

Languages: Fluency in Kiswahili and local dialects (Kinyambo and Kihaya) is required. Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

Technical & Soft Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel); strong group facilitation, training, and relationship-building skills; ability to work independently in remote field settings.

Field Requirements: Energetic and physically fit to hike high-terrain rural areas; willing to travel up to 90% of the time within assigned wards.
