About TANROADS

The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is tasked with maintaining and developing the trunk and regional roads network in Tanzania Mainland, as well as conducting axle load control operations. The Regional Manager’s Office, TANROADS Dodoma, on behalf of the Chief Executive, is recruiting qualified Tanzanian citizens for the road upgrading project: Upgrading of Kongwa Jct – Ngambi – Mpwapwa (32.0Km), LOT I: Kongwa Jct – Ngambi – Mpwapwa (32.0Km) Contract No. TRD/HQ/1033/2023/24.

Entry Qualifications & Requirements

• Citizenship: Must be a Tanzanian Citizen.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized institution.

• Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Professional Engineer.

• Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of working experience in a related field.

• Project Experience: Must have served as a Materials Engineer on at least three (3) road construction projects of a similar nature.

• Location Commitment: Ready to work for extended periods in the Dodoma Region where the project is based.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Laboratory Oversight: Complete supervision of the site laboratory, testing procedures, and experiment executions to ensure strict application of technical specifications.

• QA/QC Implementation: Execute the project’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures and effectively manage the complete Quality Checklist.

• Material Testing & Inspection: Inspect, test, and approve all construction materials and completed works; review test results and pavement/materials reports submitted by the contractor.

• Equipment Calibration & Inventory: Ensure timely and regular calibration of all laboratory testing equipment, and maintain structured, properly labeled material samples in the site sample room.

• Reporting & Advisory: Prepare daily reports covering approved samples, supplied materials, and inventory logs; provide direct advice to the Resident Engineer on material quality control and application.
