Role Overview & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Deputy Country Director (CDC-Tanzania), the Supervisory Information Management Specialist serves as the in-country lead IT expert. The incumbent oversees all ICT service delivery, strategic planning, systems architecture, network security, and infrastructure management supporting approximately 85 personnel and an annual operating budget of $15.4M.

Strategic IT Leadership (15%): Lead in-country ICT strategic planning, advise executive leadership on technological investments, build systems architecture, and align field station operations with CDC-Atlanta OCIO standards.

Operations & Unit Management (30%): Direct day-to-day IT support services, supervise and evaluate 3 IT unit staff, manage annual ICT operating budgets, oversee vendor/contractor SLAs, and ensure software licensing compliance.

Technical Infrastructure & Network Security (30%): Administer enterprise LAN/WAN networks, server configurations, VoIP and digital video conferencing tools, firewall/data security protocols, automated backup routines, and facility security access controls.

Staff Mentorship & Capacity Building (25%): Conduct advanced technical software/hardware training for CDC staff and external implementing partners, manage project lifecycles, and enforce data privacy standards.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, MIS, or an MBA paired with a relevant Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science.

Mandatory Professional Certification: Must possess at least ONE of the following certifications:

ITIL Foundation

CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)

Work Experience:
-
Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience in computer information systems.

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in MS Windows Server/Workstation management and LAN/WAN administration.

Minimum 2 years of dedicated direct supervisory experience.

Language Proficiency: Level 4 (Fluent) in both spoken and written English and Swahili.

Clearances: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust – Background Investigation security clearance and medical certification.
