Job Description

Asante Africa Foundation is seeking a creative and highly driven Fundraising Event Associate for an 8-month contract. This role will focus on developing innovative concepts, writing compelling proposals, and leading the planning and execution of a flagship fundraising event in September 2025. The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas, strategic thinking, and a passion for fundraising to help Asante Africa achieve its goals.

Key Responsibilities

Event Conceptualization and Planning:

  • Develop a unique and creative theme for the September fundraising event that aligns with Asante Africa’s mission.
  • Draft a detailed event roadmap, including timelines, tasks, and deliverables.
  • Manage event logistics such as venue, entertainment, catering, permits, and other requirements.

Proposal and Concept Development:

  • Write persuasive and impactful event proposals and sponsorship packages.
  • Develop tailored pitches for individuals, corporations, and foundations to secure event funding.
  • Ensure all proposals clearly communicate Asante Africa’s impact and how funds raised will be utilized.

Donor and Sponsor Engagement:

  • Identify and research potential donors, corporate sponsors, and partners.
  • Build meaningful relationships with stakeholders, ensuring they feel valued and invested in the event’s success.
  • Coordinate follow-ups with potential sponsors to secure commitments.

Marketing and Outreach:

  • Work with the communications team to create promotional materials, including social media campaigns, emails, and flyers.
  • Promote the event through creative channels to maximize visibility and attendance.
  • Plan and execute strategies to engage Asante Africa’s network of supporters, alumni, and ambassadors.

Budget and Fundraising Goals:

  • Create and manage the event budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Set realistic but ambitious fundraising targets for the event and track progress.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Work closely with Asante Africa’s leadership and fundraising teams for strategic alignment.
  • Provide regular updates and post-event reports on progress, outcomes, and recommendations for future events.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, or related fields.
  • Proven experience (2–3 years) in fundraising, event planning, or nonprofit development, preferably with large-scale events.

Skills:

  • Exceptional creativity and ability to develop unique concepts.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills for proposals and presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage donors, sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in event management tools (e.g., Eventbrite) and donor management software (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Strategic thinking with strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Contract Details

Start Date: April 2025

End Date: October 2025

Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience

Commitment: Flexible working hours with occasional travel for meetings and event coordination.
