PUBLIC NOTICE ON CAP PRICES FOR PETROLEUM PRODUCTS EFFECTIVE WEDNESDAY, 3RD JANUARY 2024
The Energy and Water Services Regulatory Authority (Ewura) today, Wednesday January 3, 2024, has announced new fuel prices that have dropped compared to last month.
The price of petrol has dropped from Sh3,158 in December 2023 to Sh3,084 in January 2024 in Dar es Salaam Region, while diesel has dropped from Sh3,226 to Sh3,078 in the same period.
In addition to the Dar es Salaam region, petrol prices have also dropped in the Tanga and Mtwara regions, which are the hubs for receiving the oil.
“The decrease in oil prices for January 2024 is due to the drop in oil prices (FOB) in the world market by an average of 6.03 percent for gasoline and 7.13 percent for diesel.
“Also, the decrease in oil prices is due to the decrease in oil import costs by an average of 3.72 percent for gasoline and 17.52 percent for diesel at the port of Dar es Salaam and by an average of 22.71 percent for gasoline and 22.12 percent for diesel at the port of Mtwara,” said part of Ewura’s statement.
