MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Activity

Strategic engagement coordination: 40 %

  • Coordinate the initiation, implementation and evaluation of Health, Nutrition, WASH and HIV&AIDS programs as well as developing tracking system as per WVT and donor standards.
  • Ensure integration and implementation of Health, Nutrition, WASH and HIV&AIDS programs and projects
  • Review and update the Health, Nutrition, WASH and HIV&AIDS strategy and Annual operation plans.
  • Identify and document best practices and share lessons learnt with WV entities and partners
  • Promote participation of children and women in Health, Nutrition, WASH and HIV&AIDS programming
  • Conduct Operation Research on WVT field work to contribute to Health, Nutrition, WASH and HIV&AIDS programming Knowledge and skills

End Results

  • Tools developed for tracking implementation
  • Number of abstracts/best practice presented in different platforms such as ANEC, JMNR, symposiums, scientific conferences etc
  • Sound record on implementation of integrated technical program

Activity

Health and Nutrition programming facilitation: 25%

  • Support ongoing design processes related to all Health, Nutrition and WASH programs and projects, including strategy alignment and review processes.
  • Keenly monitor programme and project quality at outcome and impact level
  • Facilitate evidence-based organizational learning processes and promote innovation for continuous improvement in programming
  • Support relevant reporting functions, particularly at outcome and impact level, notably including the bi-annual Child Well-being Report.
  • Support effective implementation of Health, Nutrition and WASH programs and projects through technical guidance and support to programme and project implementation.
  • Technical capacity building of project staff, partner staff and other key stakeholders, as required
  • Provide spiritual support to staff of the division and reinforce the Core Values to enable understanding of WV operations and culture.

Activity

Resource mobilization: 15%

  • Engage in concept papers/proposal writing for fund raising
  • Continuously access, research, evaluate and promote best practices and resources in Health, Nutrition, WASH and HIV&AIDS interventions.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the project development, funding concepts and proposals are accurate and professionally prepared

  • Number of concepts peper developed

Activity

Reporting: 20%

  • Coordinate development and submission of Health, Nutrition, and WASH progress reports to Technical Program Leaders
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly activities reports

  • Number of quarterly and monthly report timely submitted

KNOWLEDGE /QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • 5+ years practical experience in Public Health including maternal & child health, HIV/AIDS with a reputable organization.
  • At least three years’ experience in program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Maternal & Child Health, and HIV&AIDS programs.
  • Demonstrated experience with progressively increasing responsibility for designing, managing, and implementing complex health activities, with a focus on MNCH programming in low-income countries involving multiple stakeholders and implementing partners direct experience with quality of care and respectful maternity care a plus.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience working with governments, professional associations, health care professionals and communities to prioritize and address MNCH issues.
  • Required Education, Training, License, Registration, And Certification
  • Master’s Degree in Public Health with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health /Project management or other health-related Sciences

Preferred Knowledge And Qualifications

  • Experience in working on donor funded maternal health programs
  • Understanding maternal and child issues on a local, regional, and international level
  • Good team player, self-starter, has ability to work under minimum supervision and maintain good relationships
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines

  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
