Main Purpose of the Position

• Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Zanlink’s network and systems strategy.
• Oversee the engineering, operations, monitoring, and maintenance of all network and systems infrastructure.
• Oversee the service delivery of new and existing customers for customer service and support.

Job Description

1. Ensure Network Uptime and Performance

1.1. Maintain network uptime of 99.9% and adhere to quality metrics and SLA performance.
1.2. Conduct high-level diagnosis, analysis, and problem-solving for all technical activities.
1.3. Direct the development and execution of a Networks and Systems disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
1.4. Develop and document the systems disaster recovery plan and periodic testing.
1.5. Proactively monitor, track, analyze, and report on network health.
1.6. Provide remote troubleshooting support to internal and external customers.
1.7. Monitor network Health through the weekly reports from 1st level subordinates.
1.8. Perform risk assessment and implement control processes for smooth network implementations.
1.9. Manage operations, maintenance, upgrades, and administration of subscriber management and billing systems, DNS systems, and authentication and access control systems.
2. Manage Data Canter infrastructure (Co-Location and Servers)

2.1. Monitor and manage servers’ health and provisioning Co-location hosting services.
2.2. Report on the Datacenter status and server health.

3. Planning and Designing

3.1. Develop plans to optimize, augment, and reconfigure the network based on actual and anticipated growth.
3.2. Plan the design, implementation, maintenance, and upgrade of different networks and systems.
3.3. Align network plans with business requirements to ensure optimal services.
3.4. Create and maintain High-Level Design and Low-Level Design documentation for the IP networks.
3.5. Ensure adequate radio and fiber network coverage and capacity to adhere to prescribed standards for transmission and service delivery.
3.6. Prepare annual Capital and Operational Expenditure budgets for Network planning and development.

4. Technical Support and Escalations

4.1. Act as local Tier III technical support on all IP networking issues.
4.2. Develops and documents best practices for troubleshooting techniques and configuration templates for data network elements and services.
4.3. Participate in the analysis of network load and routing to improve performance, reliability, capacity, and routing optimization.

Education

University degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/Telecommunications Engineering

Knowledge and Skills

• Self-motivated with the ability to drive significant change management programs.
• Strong team building, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Logical and pragmatic problem-solving abilities

Experience

• At least 6 years of relevant experience, including 2 years at a senior level.
• Proven track record in planning, implementing, and operating telecommunications networks.
• Solid understanding of financial considerations related to telecommunications operations.
• Experience in implementing and managing planning, design, implementation, operation, and maintenance structures.
