Job Purpose

The role is responsible for providing second-level support for all Self-Service and Digital Channels systems to ensure smooth daily operations and timely escalation to third-level support when required. This includes support for various digital platforms such as Internet Banking, SimBanking (USSD & Mobile App), FAO, Smart Branch, TMS, SimAccount, Agent Banking, SMS Services, and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) integrations with internal and external systems, as well as other customer-facing self-service solutions.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and continuous monitoring for all Digital Channel systems.
  • Offer 24-hour on-call support and oversee day-to-day system operations.
  • Document, review, and analyze technical specifications for system changes, improvements, and projects.
  • Evaluate system updates, perform testing, and implement system changes or enhancements in alignment with the Change Management Policy.
  • Conduct system integration testing and support the deployment of upgrades, hotfixes, and patch releases.
  • Coordinate vendor interventions to ensure timely resolution of issues and system stability.
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders regarding system performance, incidents, and changes.
  • Provide end-user support, including troubleshooting, investigating, documenting, and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Configure hardware, digital systems, services, settings, directories, and storage according to organizational standards and operational/project requirements.
  • Perform daily system monitoring to ensure the integrity and availability of hardware, servers, systems, and critical processes; review logs and verify the completion of scheduled jobs, including backups.
  • Conduct backup operations and ensure all required data and systems are successfully backed up to appropriate destinations.
  • Carry out regular file archiving and purging as required.
  • Restore services following hardware or software failures, collaborating closely with affected users.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and the ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Identify and drive innovative solutions, proactively assessing risks and implementing actions to mitigate potential issues.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications
  • Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant ICT discipline from an accredited institution.
  • At least one professional certification in IT Service Management (e.g., ITIL).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an ICT-related role, with hands-on experience supporting Self-
  • Service and Digital Channels in organizations of similar size and complexity.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of Digital Channels platforms and solutions.
  • Knowledge of people management and leadership principles, with ability to support, guide, and motivate team members.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong SLA management skills and the ability to collaborate with vendors, contractors, and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across both technical and non-technical teams.
