Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to build and grow the business by developing and maintaining strong relationships with key and potential customers. The Relationship Manager will be responsible for driving sales of liability products, customer acquisitions, cash management, credit cards, and other retail banking products to maximize revenue and achieve sales targets.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of customers, serving as the first point of contact for all their banking needs.
- Drive growth of CASA, Fixed Deposits (FD), and Asset products within the existing client portfolio according to set targets.
- Acquire new CASA, FD, and Asset customers in line with budgeted goals.
- Achieve fee income targets through effective management of the client portfolio.
- Provide personalized, professional banking services, conducting regular reviews of customer accounts and advising customers on suitable banking solutions.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and promote a full range of the bank’s products and services.
- Develop and maintain a sales and query management database for tracking performance, analyzing branch productivity, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with Branch Managers to anticipate client needs, identify opportunities, and provide professional solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and business growth.
- Utilize referrals from existing clients to generate new business opportunities.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products and services offered by the bank to effectively serve customers.
- Prepare regular performance and position reports for the Branch Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position within the banking or financial sector (2 years minimum may be considered for strong performers).
- Proven experience in retail banking sales and client relationship management.
- Strong understanding of retail banking products, including liabilities, acquisitions, cash management, credit cards, and sales products.
- Experience in structured trade finance, syndication, or project financing is an added advantage.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills with a strong record of achieving targets.
- Ability to assess customer needs and develop tailored financial solutions.
- Tech-savvy with solid computer literacy and understanding of emerging financial technologies.
- Self-motivated, confident, and results-oriented with the ability to work independently under pressure.
- High energy level, ambition, and willingness to take on new challenges.
