Job Title: Quality Supervisor – Non-Woven Products
Location: Zanzibar
Reports To: General Manager
Position Overview
The Quality Supervisor will be responsible for
- Ensuring that all non-woven products manufactured meet the company’s quality standards and customer specifications.
- This includes bags (D Cut, W Cut, Laundry Bags, Amenity Bags, Nursery Bags), medical products (Gowns, Bed Covers, Pillow Covers), and agricultural crop covers.
The role requires strong attention to detail, technical knowledge of non-woven materials, and the ability to enforce quality control processes across all production stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
- Ensure all products meet set quality parameters (size, weight, strength, color consistency, stitching, printing).
- Approve or reject materials and finished goods based on inspection results.
- Maintain proper documentation of all quality checks and deviations.
- Ensure production teams follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to reduce defects and rework.
- Conduct spot checks during production runs to prevent quality failures.
- Maintain records of inspection reports, test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Work closely with the production team to address quality issues immediately.
- Provide daily, weekly quality performance reports to management.
- Train machine operators and production staff on quality standards and inspection techniques.
- Promote a culture of “Right First Time” in the production process.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of non-woven fabric properties and production processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with production and management.
- Ability to identify and resolve quality issues quickly.
- Knowledge of quality tools such as 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis, and Pareto analysis is an advantage.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology, Quality Management, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in quality control, preferably in non-woven, textiles, or packaging manufacturing.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems preferred.

- Reduction in defect/rejection rate.
- Compliance rate with quality standards.
- Timely resolution of quality issues.
- Accuracy and completeness of inspection reports.
