About the role
To work with Sales & Marketing Team on generating awareness of the hotel through all media outlets; including strong focus on local awareness; Handle archiving of all hotel’s public relations and marketing information in a proper way. Monitor daily news in media from all sources and maintain a comprehensive report of all mentions. Assist in suggesting PR ideas to promote the hotel locally. Handle all media requests when received. This position is based at our logistic office in Arusha with occasional travel to the property
What you will do
The role involves connecting with various property teams to implement PR and marketing activities effectively. It includes conceptualizing, approving, and posting content on social media while maintaining content calendars aligned with brand guidelines. Regular analysis of digital insights helps refine strategies for greater engagement and share of voice. Responsibilities also include managing suppliers for content creation, proofreading communications, and distributing media releases on time. Building relationships with media and influencers is key, along with organizing influencer visits and ensuring efficient handling of guest/media inquiries. The role supports online reputation management, digital marketing tactics, and ensures alignment of messaging across platforms. Collaboration with sales, operations, and reservations teams is essential to align external messaging and promote guest data usage. The position also manages local mailing lists, benchmarks competitors, and analyzes campaign results to improve strategies and content solutions.
What you bring
The ideal candidate should hold a degree in a relevant field and have a minimum of two years of experience in a similar position. They must possess a keen eye for detail and aesthetics, coupled with a strong proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with additional language skills being an advantage. Exceptional business communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to engage professionally across all levels of hierarchy, are essential.
The role requires a strong aptitude for social media and digital marketing, including familiarity with SEO, digital communication principles, and scheduling or design tools. A working knowledge of computers, especially Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn and master multiple software systems are crucial. Experience in working with local media and influencer contacts in the luxury lifestyle industry is advantageous.
The candidate must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and multi-task under tight deadlines, and a high degree of confidentiality and integrity. Proficiency in proofreading and a strong command of digital marketing tools further enhance the profile of the ideal applicant. A positive attitude and adaptability are key to success in this role
